Operating Committee Meeting Under Way

The Beef Promotion Operating Committee meeting is under way in Denver this morning, as producer leaders gather to make decisions about how to invest beef checkoff dollars in Fiscal Year 2013, which begins Oct. 1, 2012.
Representatives for beef organizations proposing programs for checkoff funding in the coming year will present their suggested plans to the Operating Committee — including 10 members of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and 10 members of the Federation of State Beef Councils — throughout the day. Committee members will listen to presentations and ask questions today, but not debate or vote on the programs until tomorrow.
